As the Procurement Specialist you will report into the EMEA Procurement Manager, with the purpose of this role being to help drive and assist with the implementation of the Global Procurement Strategy by sourcing products and services essential for our company’s operations; ensuring the most cost-effective suppliers are identified who deliver on quality and service excellence whilst underpinning our values.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced individual who is interested in helping shape our Procurement strategy and in turn helping “Move Science Forward” by obtaining the best in class services/suppliers for Biocair whilst not compromising on customer service.
Responsibilities will include:
- Complete the end-to-end sourcing process for implementation of new suppliers in line with Biocair SOPs
- Support new supplier requests, contract validation, and coordinates related information on existing suppliers. Collaborates with the Supplier Approval, Quality and Compliance Teams to ensure a timely and efficient review and approval of all suppliers under local and regional sourcing market management.
- Management of the regional supplier database, ensuring it is accurate and up to date across all platforms.
- Develop detailed sourcing and category plans to maximise effectiveness and efficiency.
- Maintain the highest standard of compliance to process and procedures, while continually challenging the status quo, improving system knowledge and skills and driving a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

In addition, you will demonstrate these key competencies:
- Prior experience as a Procurement Specialist gained within an international organisation is essential.
- Prior experience of procuring services as well as products is essential.
- Commercially minded with excellent negotiation skills.
- Research and data driven with strong analytical skills.
- Strong financial planning awareness with the ability to identify and deliver cost savings across multiple business units.
- CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work well under time pressure.
- Experience within the logistics and/or life science industry experience is highly desirable.

Please note this is a full time role, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:30 and offered as 100% onsite from our office in Kempton Park (1619).
This is a South Africa based role and the right to live and work in South Africa will need to be established during the recruitment process.
