The Business Development Manager (BDM) role at Biocair is critical in its contribution to the achievement of Biocair’s revenue and gross profit targets by building new revenue through developing new customers and adding to our existing customer base, alongside selling our new and existing services to the BioPharma industry as a whole.
As a BDM at Biocair, you will manage the relationship with new and existing clients with Biocair as a supplier, by planned regular periodic face-to-face contact. Promote and execute the companies agreed sales and marketing strategy and capitalize on opportunities to develop new revenue streams from existing customers by working in close collaboration with the Sales & Marketing teams.
Responsibilities will include:
- Increasing revenue generation by building a new customer base and proactively operating within the Sales & Marketing strategy.
- Contributing to the Biocair marketing strategy and assisting in the production of sales revenue targets for each assigned client per financial year based on the knowledge of client trading patterns and potential developments.
- Achieving sales revenue targets as agreed by Board of Directors/CFO.
- Communicating any areas of competitive activity/initiatives to Sales & Marketing department and Operations.
- Tracking actual revenue versus target, for each customer, following up where necessary with client base to gain knowledge about what is influencing performance versus budget, and applying in conjunction with Operations/Finance corrective action.
- Contributing to the implementation of departmental plans and product/geographical developments.
- Contributing, to the board member where applicable, on pricing strategy and discount levels in order to win additional business or protect revenue levels (within the existing customer base).
- Assisting in the creation of new pricing tenders, RFI / RFPs or service agreements if applicable.
- Working closely with the Customer Service teams to identify opportunities to increase revenue from the existing customer-trading base.
- Presenting the benefits of new product developments to existing customer base and identifying potential revenue streams.
- Obtaining referrals and introductions from existing contacts.
- Maintaining contact with allocated clients to identify potential opportunities to grow Biocair’s revenue and identifying issues or service failures that could be a threat to maintaining current revenue levels whilst taking ownership of issues through to resolution.
- Attending exhibitions, industry seminars, events and networking opportunities as required.
- Contacting all clients, and potential clients, as per the agreed contact plan in order to discuss issues/opportunities.
- Recording all client contact/communication in the current data resources.
- Ensuring that Biocair’s Standard Operating Procedures and general standards of presentation are always adhered to.
- Taking responsibility for providing the customer with full corrective and preventative actions for any issue, with the assistance of the appropriate team members within Biocair.
- Identifying areas for process improvements, both internal and external, and progressing by agreement with the management team.

In addition, you will demonstrate these key competencies:
- Previous demonstrable experience working in an outside sales role within the speciality logistics market.
- Solid working knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chain, clinical trial distribution, and temperature controlled transportation.
- Project management experience is desirable.
- Salesforce competency.

- $95,000 to $115,000 per annum commensurate with experience

Please note this is a full time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:00. As the role is field based, we are open to considering experienced candidates based anywhere in mainland USA.
