Financial Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the General Ledger, managing year-end audits, processing and reconciling bank accounts, and overseeing the Accounts Payable function.
You will also play a key role in supporting the finance department by preparing monthly management accounts while ensuring compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
Responsibilities will include:
- Responsible to ensure monthly intercompany loan accounts are reconciled with group entities.
- Maintain the fixed asset register.
- Manage the full accounting cycle including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Process and reconcile Bank Accounts, Fleet Cards and Credit Cards.
- Load Local and International payments on Standard Bank business online and HSBC platform.
- Prepare working papers for financial audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist with month-end process.
- Ensure accurate journals are posted.
- Perform monthly reviews of P&L statement, including sales, rebates and all cost of sales transactions.
- Ensure all direct/indirect purchase invoices are coded correctly.
- Post & allocate PL invoices against relevant jobs/purchase orders, raising discrepancies with the Operations Team for investigation.
- Preparation of payment runs. Check the payment run for accuracy and send the remittances to the suppliers.
- Responsible for Supplier statements reconciliations.

Please note this is a full time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30-17.30 offered on a hybrid basis working 4 days in our office in Kempton Park and 1 day working from home.
This is a South Africa based role and the right to live and work in the in South Africa will need to be established during the recruitment process.
