Warehouse Coordinator/Driver

We are recruiting for a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Coordinator and Driver to join our Transport team. This is a critical role within Biocair’s operations, responsible for coordinating warehouse activities and ensuring the safe, compliant, and timely transport of research samples, clinical trial materials, and pharmaceutical and healthcare products.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of sensitive shipments while supporting efficient logistics processes across the business.
Responsibilities will include:
Receive shipment notifications and documents from Import and Export Team
Receive pickup and delivery documents from Import and Export Team, and ensure they are also received to mobile handheld device
Assess if shipments are acceptable for collection, and matches specifications on shipping manifests
Notify Transport Team Lead of any issues or delays in collection or delivery
Package shipments of research samples and materials per IATA and ADR Dangerous Goods packaging procedures
Recover reusable packaging and temperature monitors as needed
Update transport management system with shipment milestones
Complete driver vehicle inspection reports on equipment
Monitor and actively manage stock levels
Ensure orders/packaging dispatches are processed in the most cost effective and timely manner to meet customer timescales/requirements
Maintenance of all reusable packaging systems including receipt scanning, inspection of components, cleaning and conditioning.
Ensure adherence to Conditioning Gel Packs and Conditioning PCM procedures so all packaging specifications can be provided to clients in a timely manner and to maintain integrity of all cool chain solutions.
Ensure that research samples, clinical trials medicines, and other pharmaceutical and healthcare related products are transported in a safe and timely manner.
In addition, you will demonstrate these key competencies:
Previous experience in logistics, transport planning, or dispatch
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Must possess a valid driving license for more than 2 years
Must have less than 2 moving violations within the last 24 months
Have the physical ability to move/lift shipments between 13kg and 20kg
Able to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Teams
IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) Certification and/or ADR Certification, or 49 CFR Trained (Desirable)

This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00 and offered as 100% onsite from our Johannesburg office (Kempton Park 1619).
